About Me

Hello, i have joined this website because i have the fondest memories of a collie that came from the Peak district, she was bought from a sheep farm there. She was such a wonderful gem, and was my husband's dog from when she was a tiny dog... A teenager at the time, he had named her Lassie ...^_^.....

So i am waiting to move (before too long i hope) to a house with a garden to have a new collie, and search for her even in the UK if I have to!!

Indeed I lived in the UK for close to 20 years and returned to France 20 years ago.

So i hope you will allow me to join you even if I do not yet have a Collie as a friend and am far away, i the south of France.

The pictures I see in this site are so wonderful and your collie friends so so beautiful!!!!!

:)

Thank you

About Me

Dear Ros, Chris and fellow members,

Just to say I am so pleased to have been accepted as a member of your website. When I read about your work, in the course of looking for a rough collie to adopt I was so impressed by the wonderful work that you do. I was very privileged to own a rough collie cross, years ago and we called him Hadleigh. Hadleigh lived for 20 years, yes 20. He was the most wonderful, loving companion and we shared an enormous bond, he used to talk to me with his eyes and was enormously kind and sensitive to my moods and feelings as I hope I was to his. After Hadleigh passed on I did not seek to replace him, as by then my professional life had become so demanding, This meant I did not have  the time to either take for walks or indeed, be home enough. I have always sorely missed the wonderful companionship of these high intelligent and sensitive dogs and now I am retired, apart from writing  at home and live solo. I hope I will be able to find another loving rough collie companion to share my life. There are some wonderful walks here in North Wales and I have a large secure garden. I will post a photo of Hadleigh and myself in the near future. For those interested, I worked for the NHS for 27 years in a public health role and later as a senior lecturer/research fellow in North Wales universities, lecturing in Early Childhood studies and the Prevention of Child Maltreatment.  Thank you so much and Kind regards to you all. Sincerely, Joan Ashdown-LambertJ

About Me

Hello Collie people,

I'm a recently turned 60 and just retired lady who has loved rough collies all her life. My last collie, Amy, was with me about ten years ago. After I lost Amy work was very busy so I didn't have another collie. But now that I'm retired I'm ready for a new friend to come into my life.

I love gardening and have a big wildlife garden with two ponds, hedgehogs, foxes, and so many different birds they are a joy to watch.

I live near open countryside and beautiful parks (I chose my house for the garden and the dog walking areas!) so I know it's definitely time to introduce another collie into my life.

Love and blessings to all

Jane x

About Me

I am 70 years old, very active and fit. On the 26th January 2014 we lost our beautiful girl, shown in on the left of the picture, she was 14 1/2 years old and has left a big hole in our life. The picture shows Mollie and our border collie siting looking up the garden waiting for my wife to return from visting a friend. We live in an ideal place for dogs, having a large secure garden with direct access to the moors through a gate at the end of the garden, and we would love another rough collie to take the pain away.
